SYCHEM SA, by applying innovative design concepts, has become the single company in Greece that has the expertise, the experience, and the structure required to undertake full responsibility for the operation and maintenance of its installed desalination systems, without the involvement of the client. This type of contractual responsibility provides assurance primarily to the client in regards to the quality and quantity of the water production in compliance with specifications.
Within this framework of contracts with clients, SYCHEM engages in the following operations:
- Daily remote monitoring of desalination systems and recording of critical operation data.
- Regular on-site monitoring of desalination systems by experienced engineers and technicians.
- Preventive maintenance of desalination systems.
- Immediate repair of damages and faults by the 24-hour technical support group.
- Immediate supply of all required replacement parts.
- Perform all necessary chemical analyses on water samples.
- Periodic compilation of reports on the operation performance of desalination systems.
Moreover, SYCHEM provides the option of investment self-financing, which means that the study, design and implementation of a project is financed by SYCHEM and there is gradual payment of the investment in full, by charging the client based on the produced water quantity that the storage tanks receive from the desalination system.
In 2010, by contracting desalination system operation and water sale projects, SYCHEM produced on average 18.000 m3/day potable and/or industrial application water of high purity to particularly demanding consumers.
Some of the major self-financing investments are presented indicatively below:
- Supply of potable and industrial application water at the Oil Refineries in Corinth, owned by MOTOROIL HELLAS S.A., with a total capacity of 5.400m3/day potable water and 3.200m3/day industrial application high purity water.
- Supply of potable water to the municipality of Milos (Milos island) from the operation of the private hybrid desalination system (owned by Aioliki Milos SA) with a total capacity of 3.500m3/day.
