METKA is the business unit of MYTILINEOS S.A. undertaking the construction of large-scale EPC (Engineering-Procurement-Construction) projects, active in carrying out major power plant projects throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa, with strong emphasis on highly-efficient power plant construction.
SYCHEM S.A as a sub-contractor of METKA S.A took over the construction of the WTP & WWTP for the 200 MW Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) Power Plant in Takoradi, Ghana.
The WTP is supplied by a highly contaminated seawater supply and the pretreatment treated by chlorination, coagulation, MMF and ACF, followed by 1st pass 2.600 m3/day RO desalination, 2nd pass 2.000 m3/day RO and CEDI as polishing stage in order to, finally, produce 1.920 m3/day of high purity demineralized water (<0.1 μS/cm) as well as service water for the Power Plant.
System was fully tested with water at design pressure in SYCHEM Factory and delivered in 2017.
